The Easter Bunny Came Again the Easter Bunny Has Been Here Poem
If I call back correctly there was much more than enthusiasm almost the AFL than I am seeing with the USFL. Part of that may be that the AFL actually played in the cities they represented for home games. The other function is that some of the teams had higher omnipresence than the NFL Chargers.
Throw in just three weeks of practice and you cease up with a meh product.
Not if they are but going to play in one town for the unabridged year. No connexion for the local fans, and the only team that will get even a small-scale crowd will be the home team. Without home games being played at home merchandise sales volition be next to zero.
don't need fans for a TV contract
How would NASCAR do if they just held races in 1 place and the fans quit showing up subsequently the second race?
As long as it's on Television set, fine. The local tracks and economy's would evidently suffer, but I think NASCAR wouldn't miss a beat out. Information technology's non like there'southward a crowd advantage in it
Ticket sales are a affair with NASCAR. Over the last two years ticket sales dropped by $175 million each twelvemonth. That was a very small drop. Without crowds buying tickets there could be a drop of shut to $500 one thousand thousand. That is not a revenue base y'all desire to surrender.
they would have a lucrative Boob tube contract
I agree with that. I merely hope that it'southward able to aggrandize and be a legitimate contender for the NFL'due south monopoly. A nice spring league, fifty-fifty if information technology is a tier (or three) lower than the NFL, would exist a proficient thing.
Got something like this (though made, apparently, entirely out of bronze) when I was in Republic of iraq, and it stands about 24 inches high.
I thought it something you'd appreciate, and not merely for the conscientious craftsmanship employed here.
I assume you are talking the original AFL. I don't remember it's beginnings (I was 2. I know, I should). only retrieve that that was the first "upstart". Since then, we've endured the USFL, XFL, XFL, AAFL (I think that'south it), and now the USFL. I'yard thinking the novelty has worn off, we've seen even good leagues with good players (the original USFL) fail, and playing all the games in one place with no crowds doesn't help. However, if you scout the video I posted, this is apparently a exam run, to run across if information technology generates whatsoever interest. I sounds like buying isn't even set yet. Then, this is odd and different.
Airheaded me. Meant the AAF. If it wasn't for the fact that their major investor had his funds existence frozen afterward week one and having to run to Dundon for funding they would take had the funds to make it ii years like shooting fish in a barrel. Dundon screwed the AAF when he thought he could grab all the tech he idea he was buying into. Turns out the casinos that helped develop the tech were the ones that owned the tech. Then he screwed up a new league for nothing.
Oh.
They should have more violins in schoolhouse. Oh, violence. Nevermind.

Remember the WFL? Early-mid '70s
But since yous mentioned it. Might explain why everything is in Birmingham. They were the last champion.

I miss the AAF. That was fun to watch.
I'm kinda hoping that the USFL is able to bring in a bigger draw though. A competitor league that succeeds could only exist good for you for the NFL in the long term.
